Update- Planet Coffee Situation

This morning I called Planet Coffee again and, as expected, was told I would not be able to film as it is short notice and they are extremely busy to it been a holiday week. As I thought this may be the case, I am going to use the earlier footage from Planet Coffee as best as I can.

Ancillary Text Photographs

While on location for filming, I took some photos for my ancillary texts. I will be messing about with the colour and lighting in Photoshop before applying it to the texts and will consider if we need to go back and get more photos, possibly in a different location to where the music video is filmed. I think a different outfit would also be more conventional. For once I haven't been as organised as I thought I was and am disappointed that I didn't get more photographs. As I was too caught up in trying to get stuff filmed for my video, these are just quick shots I got on the spot and didn't really think about the composition and didn't think to use my other lens (50mm prime) which would have produced much better quality images. I will try to get round this problem by rethinking what images I can use for my digipak.

Filming Day 7- River Bank/The Marina/Queens Gardens

Again, filming went to plan, I got all the footage I needed plus a little bit extra in Queens Gardens. The weather was also good again which meant the video will not lack continuity.

Filming Day 6 - Queens Gardens/Old Town/The Marina

Today's filming went to plan as the weather was great to film in, therefore the continuity in the video would not be affected. I didn't, however, get enough footage filmed at The Marina as, on location, I realised the book hadn't been put in my bag- although this did mean that we stayed on schedule to film in the Old town at the time which we agreed with the staff at Flavours Cafe. When in Queens Gardens, as the 'new Filming Locations' post shows, we filmed in a different part, although it was a slightly more busier area. This didn't overally affect the footage though because I managed to frame most of it with little background interference. Tomorrow we plan on filming firstly on the River Bank and then heading back into town to film more at the Marina.

Update

I have called Planet Coffee to ask permission to film again. However, due to the manager not been in, I was told I would have to call back on Thursday (the day I want to film) in order to speak to the manager. While it is short notice I will call again but it is unlikely I will be able to film.

I have planned this week's filming schedule, basing what time we are going to go out and film on the weather. I plan to film in Planet Coffee again but we will need permission as it is the half term holidays which means it will be quite busy. I have chosen to film outside on Tuesday and Wednesday as Monday and Thursday appear to be rainy days, therefore will film indoors on Thursday as the weather will not affect the footage. I believe I can get it all filmed on these days which will leave Monday to plan and go over/change the storyboard, and Friday, possibly Saturday to film extra footage if we need it and ancillary text photos. This may change as I am planning too far ahead of the weather forecasts.

Since I have recently bought a new computer, I am going to install the 30 day free trial of Premiere Pro and Photoshop to allow me to get a second draft and my ancillary texts produced by the end of the holiday. This will allow me to produce a third draft in college, and make any changes to the ancillary texts, without being stuck for time.
